How To Create A Powerful LinkedIn Profile That Can Help Bring Clients Into Your Business! (Ep 70)
If you are active on LinkedIn, you will notice your brand will grow, as will your opportunities.
When using LinkedIn to grow your business, it is not only about posting content. Having your profile are set up correctly is also really important. Your LinkedIn profile should reflect three things;
- Who you are;
- Who you help; &
- What you offer.
So, how do you uplevel your profile on LinkedIn?
1.You need to choose the right profile picture for LinkedIn:
Your profile picture will not be the same picture that you would use on your Facebook or Instagram - it should be a professional image of yourself. You can still show personality, but maybe not one of you is out drinking or in your wedding dress! I recommend using the same photo that you would use on your website, preferably a headshot.
2.You should use the LinkedIn banner to your advantage:
The landscape image above your profile picture on LinkedIn is an excellent opportunity to post an image of your business or offering. Rather than keeping it plain or using a âweekendâ image. Allow this section to explain what you do.
3.Turn heads with your headline:
Instead of just using your mainstream headline, i.e., Family Lawyer, Criminal Lawyer, Tax Lawyer - switch it up! Tell your audience who you help and what problems you solve. âLeading an incredible team of legal professionals at Collective Family Law. Helping other law firm owners scale their business without burnout.â
Stand out by speaking directly to the person you want to attract.
4.Perfect your summary section:
Turn your summary into a story about how you impact and help people - what problems do you solve for them? Many people leave this section blank, but it is a perfect opportunity to show off just how fabulous you are and share your skillset. But remember to talk about your reader and not just yourself.
5.List your relevant skills:
This is a speedy way to identify your skills and exactly what it is that they doâensuring that your profile is clear on how you help people. You can just go through the list and select your primary skills so that your audience is clear on who you are.
6.Update your experience, links, and contact details:
Go in and update all of your experience and contact details. Ensure that this all is professional, in-date, and clear to read. People donât have time to connect the dots, so ensure they donât have to! The same goes with your links; always ensure your website link is clear and works!
It is a great idea is to pop in your calendar every 6-months, do a LinkedIn audit, and just go over to re-jig everything.
7.Featured information and images:
This is a great area to showcase what you have recently been up to. It is a great way to show people what your involvement is in your industry visually. For example, you could showcase your business, podcast, team, or event.
So now that you have a shiny, transparent, and neat LinkedIn profile - It is time to expand your network! How can we do this? See below!
It is easy to find contacts/businesses that are suitable for you. For example, If you are in financial planning - you can reach out to all of the financial planners in your area and connect with them. All you need to do is pop into the search bar âFinancial Plannersâ and your local area, and you can connect that way.
Another way to connect is by going to like-minded peopleâs profiles and connecting with people from their accounts.
