Have you ever felt exhausted, overwhelmed, and quite literally, just over it? I think that it is safe to say that we have all experienced feeling this way from time to time in our lives.
It gets to a point that you just want to let loose, drop a massive ‘F’ bomb or simply scream because you feel so overwhelmed! When we fall into that zone, it is not much fun for yourself or for the poor soul on the receiving end of it.
Our personal boundaries aren’t as obvious as a fence that protects us, they’re more like invisible laser lines that get irritated every time someone crosses them. Others are unaware that they are there unless you make it clear through your actions.
It can be confronting for some of us to create boundaries, particularly if we like to please everyone around us. Even though personal boundaries can be challenging to navigate, setting and communicating them is essential for our own health, well-being, and even our safety at times.
We can set boundaries for ourselves by looking deeper into our personal matters, such as:
- personal space
- work expectations
- relationships
- time and energy
Setting boundaries is essential for you to live well and create a life that you love, without making any particularly major changes in your day-to-day life.
Often in life, we find things difficult, but we do so without realising that we have created the situation that we are in.
BOUNDARIES ARE SIMPLY THE PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, AND MENTAL LIMITS WE ESTABLISH TO PROTECT OURSELVES FROM BEING MANIPULATED, USED, OR VIOLATED BY OTHERS.
It is human nature for all of us to try and get our needs met in whichever way we need to, and some of us are more prepared than others to push the boundaries. Whether people be pushing personal boundaries, friendship boundaries, or even business boundaries to ensure that their needs are met in an easier way, they can all negatively impact your mindset.
Having boundaries allows you to make yourself a priority and to live well, whether that’s in self-care, your career aspirations, or within relationships.
Remember that boundaries can be flexible, they don’t have to be set in stone. Life isn’t quite as simple as we all know. It is fine to take a pause from time to time. We don’t want to be people that are too ridged and have no flexibility about us either.
GOOD BOUNDARY SETTING, CREATES PEACE AND HARMONY IN OUR LIVES. IT ALLOWS US TO GROW AND STRENGTHEN AND GIVES US THAT SPACE THAT WE NEED TO REJUVENATES.
